
Prosper Apartments is a mixed-use residential development by Nazero One, located at 2-10 Palmerston Street, Kogarah NSW, within Sydney’s St George district approximately 14km from the CBD. The development required a practical and compliant waste management solution capable of servicing a high-occupancy residential building efficiently, with integrated compaction equipment to support organised waste room operations at ground level.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install a waste chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The system provides efficient waste transfer across ten chute pipe levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.
Ten fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors were installed across all operational levels, with signage fitted to each door to support correct use by residents. The chute runs straight up and down throughout the shaft, with the discharge room located at ground level.
A linear compactor system configured to suit a 1,100L MGB was installed at ground level, supporting efficient waste compaction and reducing the frequency of bin changeovers for building management. The linear compactor integration supports a low-maintenance and well-organised ground floor waste room environment suited to the high-density occupancy of a mixed-use residential development.
A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at the top of the chute shaft, discharging through to open air on the level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the shaft.
The completed installation provides Nazero One with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and operational demands of Prosper Apartments, supporting reliable long-term performance within a mixed-use residential environment in Sydney’s St George district.
