Pagewood Green Viola - Waste Chute System Installation

Pagewood Green Viola is the third stage of the Pagewood Green master-planned residential community, comprising 177 apartments across 16 levels, constructed by Karimbla Construction Services, part of the Meriton Group, and located at 128 Bunnerong Road, Pagewood NSW. As a large-scale high-density residential tower within an established master-planned precinct, the development required a waste management solution capable of servicing four building cores efficiently and reliably across multiple levels.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed four waste chute systems across four cores within the west and east buildings, each configured to meet the operational demands of a high-density residential environment. The systems provide efficient waste transfer across multiple levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.
The installation spans 74 chute pipe levels in total across all four cores, with 74 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed at every operational level. Cores 1 and 2, located within the west building south and west building north respectively, each service 19 chute pipe levels spanning levels 1 through 19. Cores 3 and 4, located within the east building north and east building south, each service 18 chute pipe levels spanning levels 1 through 18. All discharge rooms are located at ground level across all four cores.

Each core is fitted with a splitter discharge system configured to suit a 1,100L MGB, providing a space-efficient discharge solution at ground level that allows waste to be directed to the appropriate bin without requiring additional floor space. The splitter configuration supports streamlined waste room operations across all four cores within the development.

Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of each chute shaft across all four cores, with Core 1 and Core 2 venting at level 19 and Cores 3 and 4 venting at level 18, each discharging through to open air on the level above. These systems support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of each shaft.

The completed installation provides Karimbla Construction Services with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and density of Pagewood Green Viola, supporting reliable long-term performance across all four cores and contributing to the continued operational success of the broader Pagewood Green precinct.
