Waste Chute System Installation

KEW Apartments is a multi-residential development by Binah Constructions, located at 23-27 Schofields Road, Schofields NSW, within Sydney’s North West growth corridor in the City of Blacktown. The development comprises four building cores each requiring an individually configured waste chute system, with integrated compaction equipment to support efficient waste room operations across the estate.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install four waste chute systems across Buildings B1, B2, C1, and C2, each configured to suit the layout and occupancy requirements of its respective core. The systems provide efficient waste transfer across a combined 20 chute pipe levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.

Each core services five chute pipe levels, with five fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed at every operational level across all four buildings. All chute shafts run straight up and down, with discharge rooms located at lower ground level in each building.

Each core is fitted with a linear compactor system configured to suit a 1,100L waste MGB, supporting efficient waste compaction and reducing the frequency of bin changeovers for building management. Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all four chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each shaft.

The completed installation provides Binah Constructions with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and configuration of KEW Apartments, supporting reliable long-term performance across all four building cores within Sydney’s North West growth corridor.
