Waste Chute System Installation

Azure is a luxury waterfront residential development by Dasco, located at 142-144 Albany Street, Point Frederick NSW, on the Central Coast approximately 50km north of Sydney. The development’s boutique scale and premium waterfront setting required a waste management solution that performs reliably while integrating seamlessly into the building’s operational infrastructure across two lift cores.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install two waste chute systems across Lifts 1 and 2, each configured to suit the layout and occupancy requirements of its respective core. The systems provide efficient waste transfer across a combined 14 chute pipe levels, with 13 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed across all operational levels. A bypass configuration was incorporated at ground floor in Lift 2. Both chute shafts run straight up and down, with discharge rooms located at upper basement level in both cores.

Each core is fitted with a splitter discharge system configured to suit a 1,100L waste MGB, providing a space-efficient discharge solution that allows waste to be directed to the appropriate bin without requiring additional floor space within the upper basement waste room. Lift 1 is additionally fitted with a 240L bin lifter configured to suit a 660L recycling MGB, enabling smaller 240L recycling bins to be decanted into a larger collection bin for efficient recycling management at discharge level.

Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of both chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout both shafts.

The completed installation provides Dasco with a durable, compliant, and practical waste infrastructure solution suited to the boutique luxury character of Azure, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance within a premium waterfront residential environment on the Central Coast.
