DASCO Partners with Elephants Foot Chute Solutions for High-Rise Waste Management at One Melrose, Melrose Park

DASCO selected Elephants Foot Chute Solutions to implement a comprehensive waste management solution for the One Melrose development in Melrose Park, a 277-apartment high-rise building. Located just 7km from Parramatta CBD, the project required a robust system combining efficiency with strict compliance to NSW building regulations.

The installation featured 10 complete waste chute systems constructed from galvanised steel pipes, designed to Elephants Foot Chute Solutions’ exacting standards. Throughout the building, 84 fire-rated hopper doors with 2-hour fire resistance were installed at waste intake points, ensuring full compliance and effective odour containment.

At basement level, the system incorporated 10 carousel discharge units specifically configured for 660L mobile garbage bins (MGBs). These non-compacting systems optimize waste collection workflows while minimizing manual handling requirements for building staff. The entire solution was engineered to integrate seamlessly with the building’s architecture while meeting the practical needs of residents and facility managers alike.
