Willoughby Grounds is a residential development constructed by Dasco Australia, located at 452-462 Willoughby Road, Willoughby NSW, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Spanning two sites and six building cores, the development required a coordinated waste management solution capable of servicing a varied range of building heights and discharge configurations across the estate.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed six waste chute systems across Buildings B1, B2, C, D, E, and F, each configured to suit the specific layout and operational requirements of its respective building. The systems provide efficient waste transfer across multiple levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.
Across Site 1, Buildings B1 and B2 were each fitted with a standard waste chute system, servicing four and five chute pipe levels respectively with fire-rated self-closing intake doors at each level. Both buildings discharge to basement level 1, each fitted with a Type A bottom discharge door configured to suit a 1,100L MGB. Buildings C and D on Site 1 each service seven chute pipe levels and are fitted with eDiverter intake doors and eDiverter discharge systems configured to suit 1,100L MGBs, with Building C discharging to basement level 1 and Building D discharging to ground level.
Across Site 2, Buildings E and F are mirror configurations, each servicing nine chute pipe levels spanning basement 1 through to level 7. Intake doors are installed at ground floor through to level 7, with a bypass configuration at basement 1 in both buildings. Each building is fitted with a linear track system without compactor configured to suit 1,100L MGBs, with discharge rooms located at basement 2. Buildings B1 and B2 on Site 1 are also each fitted with a linear track system, bringing the total to four linear track systems across the development.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of each chute shaft across all six buildings, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each core.
The completed installation provides Dasco Australia with a durable, compliant, and coordinated waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and complexity of Willoughby Grounds, supporting reliable long-term performance across all six building cores and both development sites.
