The Horden is a medium‑density residential development delivered by Dynamic Projects in Sydney’s Lower North Shore suburb of Mosman. Located within a premium urban corridor close to transport links and village retail, the project required a reliable and compliant waste management solution that could operate efficiently within a compact building footprint.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a purpose‑designed waste chute system tailored to the building’s scale and operational requirements. The system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing three levels, providing smooth vertical waste transfer while reducing the risk of blockages in a low‑rise residential environment.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing intake doors are installed on each active level, supporting safe operation and maintaining fire and smoke separation between floors. These fire‑rated chute doors are designed for ease of use while meeting current building compliance requirements.
At the top of the chute, a vent and wash‑down cleaning system provides airflow and internal chute cleaning. This assists with odour control, improves hygiene, and protects long‑term system performance, particularly important in tightly planned residential buildings.
At basement level, waste is discharged via a linear track discharge system configured to suit 240L mobile garbage bins. This arrangement allows efficient bin handling while minimising manual lifting and supporting straightforward collection processes.
The completed residential waste solution delivers a low‑maintenance, compliant system that supports reliable daily operation, improves waste handling efficiency, and aligns with the quality expectations of a premium Lower North Shore development.
