Ralph is a luxury mixed-use residential development by Waterside Constructions, located at 45-47 Ralph Street, Alexandria NSW, approximately 7km from the Sydney CBD. The development’s five-core configuration required individually designed waste chute systems for each lift core, with integrated compaction equipment and acoustic discharge room specifications suited to a premium residential environment.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed five waste chute systems across Lifts 1 through 5, providing a combined total of 25 chute pipe levels and 25 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed at every operational level across all five cores. All five discharge rooms are located at ground level, each fitted with a linear compactor system to suit a 1,100L waste MGB. Lifts 1, 4, and 5 are fitted with medium offset discharge configurations, while Lifts 2 and 3 are fitted with minor offset discharge configurations, each tailored to the individual discharge room geometry of its respective core.
The acoustic specification across all five discharge rooms required Embelton NRD isolation mounts to ceiling-mounted equipment, ensuring structure-borne noise from the compactor systems is appropriately managed and does not transmit into the residential floors above. Odour relief vent and flushing spray systems were installed at the top of all five chute shafts, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of each chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene.
The completed installation provides Waterside Constructions with a durable, compliant, and acoustically considered waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and premium character of Ralph, supporting efficient building operations across all five cores within Sydney’s inner south.
