Waste Chute System Installation - Belmont House

Belmont House is a boutique residential development by Astute Constructions, located at 59-99 Belmont Street, Alexandria NSW, within Sydney’s inner south. The development provides a refined residential offering within one of Sydney’s most established and sought-after inner-city suburbs, requiring building infrastructure that performs reliably while integrating unobtrusively into the daily operations of a boutique residential environment.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a waste chute system tailored to the vertical layout and occupancy requirements of the building. The system provides efficient waste transfer across multiple levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.

The installation services three chute pipe levels across levels 1, 2, and 3, with three fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed at each level. The discharge room is located at ground level, with a minor offset discharge configuration installed to suit a 660L MGB, providing a clean and efficient waste collection point at bin level.

The discharge room acoustic specification required the installation of Embelton NRD isolation mounts to ceiling-mounted equipment, ensuring that noise generated by the waste system is appropriately managed within the building. This acoustic treatment reflects the considered approach to building performance expected within a boutique residential development and supports a comfortable living environment for occupants.

A premium touch latch metal access panel measuring 600mm x 400mm was also supplied and delivered as part of the scope, providing maintenance access to the system where required. An odour relief vent and flushing spray system was installed at level 3, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of the chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the shaft.

The completed installation provides Astute Constructions with a durable and compliant waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and character of Belmont House, delivering reliable long-term performance within a boutique residential setting in Sydney’s inner south.
