Amara Residences is a luxury seniors living development by Terentius Construction, located at 266 Longueville Road, Longueville NSW, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. The development’s three-building configuration and high-standard residential care environment required a coordinated waste management solution with enhanced acoustic specifications and discharge room isolation to suit the comfort and operational expectations of its residents.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed three waste chute systems across Buildings A, B, and C, providing a combined total of 19 chute pipe levels and 19 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors installed at every operational level. Premium acoustic lagging using 55mm thick 32kg/m3 foil-faced glass-wool insulation blanket rated R1.3 was applied to all 19 chute pipe sections. Three custom hopper door extensions were also fabricated and installed at lower levels in Building A to address wall conditions that did not conform to standard installation requirements.
All three discharge rooms are located at level 00, each fitted with a minor offset discharge configuration to suit a 660L waste MGB and a linear system to suit a 660L waste MGB. Embelton NRD isolation mounts were installed to ceiling-mounted equipment in all three discharge rooms to meet the acoustic specification. Odour relief vent and flushing spray systems were installed at the top of all three chute shafts to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene.
