High‑Capacity eDiverter Chute Solution for Community Housing

Vincentcare Community Housing Footscray, delivered by L.U Simon Builders in Melbourne’s inner west, provides secure and affordable accommodation within a well‑connected urban precinct close to transport, employment, and essential services. The project required a practical and compliant waste management solution capable of supporting daily resident use while maintaining durability and operational efficiency.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a 610mm galvanised steel eDiverter chute system servicing Levels 1 through 17. The system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single vertical chute, improving spatial efficiency while maintaining clear separation at discharge level.

Fire‑rated, self‑closing intake doors were installed at operational levels to provide safe and compliant resident access, with designated bypass levels incorporated to suit the building layout. All chute sections were upgraded with acoustic lagging to assist in minimising operational noise transmission within the residential environment.

A vent and wash‑down cleaning system was installed at the uppermost level to support airflow performance, hygiene control, and long‑term system maintenance. At Ground Level, a Type A discharge configuration was integrated to suit 1100L MGBs, ensuring safe and efficient bin handling for building management.

The completed installation delivers a durable, space‑efficient waste infrastructure solution tailored to the operational requirements of community housing in an inner‑urban setting.
