This 168-apartment premium retirement community, built to Livable Housing Australia’s Gold Standard, required accessible waste management solutions supporting residents’ independence.
The installation features a 610mm diameter dual chute system with twelve vertically aligned chute pipes constructed to Elephants Foot Chute Solutions’ exacting specifications. Twelve fire-rated hopper doors with 2-hour fire resistance provide secure, compliant access points throughout the facility, designed for ease of use by older residents.
At ground level, the system incorporates two Type A discharge doors configured for 1,100L mobile garbage bins (MGBs), ensuring efficient waste collection without compromising the village’s premium aesthetics. The solution was carefully engineered to meet stringent accessibility requirements while maintaining full compliance with Queensland retirement living regulations.
