Elephants Foot Chute Solutions partnered with ALAND to deliver a large-scale waste management solution for The Hoxton, a three-building mixed used development in Liverpool designed by DWA Architects. Comprising over 300 apartments with rooftop gardens and premium finishes, the project required a robust, multi-building waste chute system to support daily operations for residents.
In Building A, a 33-level waste chute system was installed, incorporating 31 fire-rated, self-closing Chute Doors with signage. Two bypass levels were included on the lower floors. At the rooftop, a vent and wash-down cleaning system was fitted, while the basement discharge room was equipped with a Carousel Bin System designed to manage four 660L MGBs.
Building B was fitted with an eight-level chute system, including seven intake doors and signage, with a bypass at ground level. The discharge room housed a Linear Track Bin System configured for two 660L MGBs, along with a 240L bin lifter to decant smaller bins into larger recycling MGBs.
Building C also received an eight-level chute system, featuring six intake doors and signage with bypasses at ground and first levels. The discharge room was fitted with a second Linear Track Bin System for two 660L MGBs, supported by a rooftop vent and wash-down system.
Across all three buildings, the chute systems were designed as straight vertical runs, ensuring long-term durability and reduced maintenance while meeting fire and building compliance standards.
