Elephants Foot Chute Solutions partnered with Hutchinson Builders to supply and install dual waste and recycling chute systems for The Crossing, a boutique residential development at 1 Merewether Street, Newcastle NSW. Developed by DOMA Group, the project comprises 48 apartments across four buildings.

The installation included two separate chute systems spanning 8 levels, with 6 intake hoppers and doors for both waste and recycling on Levels 3–8. The lower two levels function as bypasses with no intake doors, and additional access panels were installed on Level 1. Each system is equipped with clear signage for every self-closing intake door to ensure safe and convenient use.

A vent and wash-down cleaning system extends from Level 8 to the rooftop, maintaining hygiene across the building. At the ground-level discharge room, a Linear Compactor System was installed for 660L MGB waste bins, while a Linear Track System without a compactor handles 660L MGB recycling bins. All chute runs are straight up and down, with custom offsets available if required.

This dual chute system provides residents of The Crossing with a reliable, hygienic, and discreet waste management solution designed for long-term efficiency and compliance in a boutique residential environment.
