Elephants Foot Chute Solutions worked with Hogar Construction to deliver advanced waste infrastructure for The Crescent, a mixed-use development in Fairfield comprising over 100 luxury apartments and six ground-floor commercial spaces. Designed by Architecture Design Studio, the project required a combination of dual and single chute systems to support its high-density residential design.
In Building A – Core 1, a Dual Chute System was installed across 12 levels, featuring 24 galvanised steel chute pipes, 12 fire-rated Chute Doors for waste, and 12 fire-rated chute doors for recycling. Two rooftop odour management systems with vents and flushing sprays were installed, with the ground-level discharge room fitted with medium-offset Discharge Attachments configured for 1100L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams.
In Building B – Core 2 and Core 3, two independent waste chute systems were installed, each spanning eight levels with eight fire-rated chute doors. Rooftop odour relief vents and flushing sprays were fitted at level 8, with ground-level discharge rooms incorporating minor-offset discharge units configured for 1100L MGBs.
A key variation to the project included the installation of custom chute offsets and linear track systems. These included a custom recycling bypass from ground to upper basement in Building A and Linear Track Bin Systems across multiple cores, designed to manage 660L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams.
This tailored installation ensured The Crescent received a robust and scalable waste management solution, integrating dual-stream recycling and general waste handling with modern discharge technology.
