Elephants Foot Chute Solutions partnered with L.U. Simon Builders to deliver two Dual Chute Systems for Tempo Box Hill, a landmark mixed-use project in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The development comprises two towers: a 10-storey social housing tower with 73 apartments, and a 19-storey residential tower with 159 market apartments, complemented by retail, commercial tenancies, and three basement parking levels.
The installation included galvanised steel chute pipe levels divided across the two towers. Each tower was fitted with fire-rated, self-closing Chute Doors and compliant signage to ensure safe and efficient operation for both waste and recycling streams.
Tower One was equipped with 18 levels of dual chute infrastructure (waste and recycling), incorporating 36 intake doors, rooftop odour management and wash-down systems, and two Type A Discharge Attachments configured for 1100L MGBs. Tower Two was fitted with nine dual chute levels, including 18 intake doors, ventilation, and wash-down systems, along with two additional Type A discharge units at ground level.
To enhance acoustic performance and resident comfort, both chute systems were upgraded with acoustic lagging bonded to convoluted foam. This ensured compliance with building requirements and reduced noise transfer within the towers.
Together, the works provided Tempo Box Hill with robust and efficient waste and recycling infrastructure, tailored to suit both high-density residential and social housing environments.
