Elephants Foot Chute Solutions collaborated with GVG Construction to provide a high-performing waste chute system for Stonebrook, a nine-level residential development situated beside the rejuvenated Hanlon Park in Greenslopes. Featuring 90 boutique apartments, the project required a robust and innovative waste solution tailored to a modern urban lifestyle.
The system included eight galvanised steel chute pipes spanning levels 1–8, each equipped with self-closing, fire-rated chute doors upgraded with smoke seals and acoustic lagging.
At the rooftop level, an odour relief vent with a flushing spray was installed to maintain hygiene, while the basement discharge room was enhanced with a custom discharge attachment incorporating an integrated single bin compactor for 1100L MGBs. A wall-mounted hopper was also included for recycling streams.
Odour control was strengthened with an EF Neutralizer unit in the discharge room, supporting a fresh and clean waste environment. Additionally, reusable slab penetration ring formers were supplied to streamline future servicing and maintenance.
Through design modifications and staged variations, the installation was adapted to evolving site requirements, resulting in a reliable and compliant system that balances functionality, safety, and convenience.
