Aveo Bella Vista Haven Waste and Recycling Chute System

Aveo Bella Vista Haven Stage 1B & 2 is a retirement living development delivered by Growthbuilt within Sydney’s north‑west growth corridor. Designed to support independent and assisted living within a master‑planned community, the development required a waste management solution that prioritised safety, accessibility, hygiene, and low manual handling for residents and staff.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a centralised eDiverter waste and recycling chute system. The eDiverter configuration enables waste and recycling separation through a single chute riser, reducing building footprint while maintaining ease of use and high operational reliability.

The system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing ground level through Level 10. A minor mid‑level offset was incorporated at ground level to suit the building layout while maintaining smooth vertical waste transfer and reducing the risk of blockages.

Fire‑rated, self‑closing eDiverter intake doors are installed on all active levels, allowing residents and staff to select the appropriate waste stream at the point of disposal. This design supports safe operation, clear waste separation, and improved recycling outcomes within a retirement living environment.

At the top of the chute, a dedicated odour relief vent and wash‑down cleaning system provides continuous airflow and automated internal cleaning. These features assist with odour control, improve hygiene, and protect long‑term chute performance.

At basement level, waste and recycling are discharged via an eDiverter system with a medium offset into 1100L mobile garbage bins. The discharge arrangement integrates a linear track compactor system for waste servicing two 1100L bins, along with a linear track system for recycling. Acoustic isolation mounts were installed to ceiling‑mounted equipment within the discharge room to meet project‑specific acoustic performance requirements. The completed installation integrates seamlessly with the building’s residential and aged‑care waste management system, delivering a safe, reliable, and future‑ready solution for retirement living operations.
