The Carlyle Waste Chute System

The Carlyle is a medium‑density residential development delivered by JPA Constructions in Sydney’s inner west corridor. Located close to transport, retail, and local services, the project required a reliable waste handling solution capable of supporting daily resident use while maintaining compliance and long‑term operational performance.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dedicated residential waste chute system, providing efficient vertical waste transfer and streamlined waste handling throughout the building.

The system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing Levels 1 to 5, together with fire‑rated, self‑closing waste intake doors at each level to ensure safe, compliant, and user‑friendly resident access.

An integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning system installed at the upper level supports airflow, odour control, and internal chute hygiene, helping maintain long‑term system performance. Acoustic isolation mounts were also installed in the discharge room to reduce operational vibration and improve equipment performance.

At ground level, waste is discharged via a minor offset arrangement into a linear compactor system designed to suit three 240L bins, forming part of the building’s broader residential waste management infrastructure designed for efficient servicing and dependable daily operation.
