Ophira is a medium‑density residential development delivered by 5 Point Projects in the Palm Beach coastal precinct. Located close to the beachfront, retail, and local services, the development required a waste management solution capable of supporting daily resident usage while maintaining compliance, hygiene, and long‑term operational reliability in a coastal environment.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a centralised residential waste chute system designed to provide safe and efficient vertical waste transfer throughout the building. The installation includes 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing residential levels, engineered for durability, corrosion resistance, and long‑term performance in coastal conditions.

Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste intake doors are installed at each level, ensuring secure and compliant resident access while supporting safe day‑to‑day operation. Additional chute pipe sections and hopper doors were integrated at upper levels to accommodate the building’s lower penthouse configuration, ensuring full system continuity and consistent resident access across all serviced floors.

At the upper level, an integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning system supports airflow, odour management, and internal chute hygiene, helping maintain performance and cleanliness over the life of the system. Waste is discharged at ground level through a minor offset arrangement designed to suit 1100L bin handling requirements, forming part of the building’s broader residential waste management infrastructure and supporting efficient servicing operations.
