
Norwest Quarter is a landmark master-planned residential development by Parkview Constructions, located at 40 Solent Circuit, Norwest NSW, in Sydney’s Hills District approximately 35km from the CBD. The development’s two high-rise residential buildings required individually configured dual waste and recycling chute systems, complemented by upgrades to existing waste room equipment and the supply of commercial loading dock compaction equipment.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed two dual waste and recycling chute systems across Buildings B and C, providing a combined total of 76 chute pipe levels and 66 fire-rated self-closing intake doors across all operational levels. Building B incorporates four custom major chute offsets and bypass configurations at lower levels, with a carousel system without compactor configured to suit four 1,100L waste MGBs and a linear track system to suit three 1,100L recycling MGBs at basement 1. Building C services 24 waste and 24 recycling chute pipe levels with bypass configurations at lower levels, fitted with a custom linear track system to suit four 1,100L waste MGBs and a linear track system to suit three 1,100L recycling MGBs at basement 1.
The scope also included the removal and replacement of existing linear track systems in both Buildings B and C to suit updated bin configurations, ensuring the waste room infrastructure across both buildings was aligned with current operational requirements. Two portable integrated auger compactors with 10m3 bins and two stationary multi-bin lifters were supplied for the loading dock, supporting high-volume waste compaction and bin decanting at precinct level.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all four chute shafts across both buildings, discharging through to open air on the level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each shaft.
