Norwest Quarter is a medium to high‑density residential development delivered by Parkview Constructions within Sydney’s north west business and residential precinct. Located close to major employment hubs, retail, and transport infrastructure, the development required a robust and highly scalable waste management solution capable of supporting large resident volumes across multiple buildings.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed multiple residential waste and recycling chute systems designed to deliver efficient vertical waste transfer while maintaining safety, compliance, and long‑term operational performance.

The project comprises two large dual‑chute installations servicing Buildings B and C, with a total of four chute risers constructed from 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes. Across the development, the systems service up to 24 levels, incorporating both straight‑through chute runs and custom major offsets to accommodate architectural and services constraints.

Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste and recycling chute intake doors are installed on all active levels, providing safe and intuitive access for residents while maintaining fire and smoke separation. Clear signage at each intake supports correct waste stream use and helps minimise contamination across the building.

At the top of each chute, dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems provide continuous airflow and automated internal cleaning. These systems assist with odour control, hygiene, and long‑term chute performance in a high‑use residential environment.

At basement level, waste and recycling are managed through a combination of linear track systems, carousel systems, and custom discharge arrangements to suit multiple 660L and 1100L mobile garbage bins. In addition, retail‑grade compactors and bin lifters were integrated within the loading dock to support commercial waste streams and high‑volume servicing requirements.

The completed installation delivers a highly flexible, compliant, and future‑proof residential waste management solution, purpose‑designed to support one of the largest mixed residential developments in Sydney’s north west.
