Malvern Collective is a residential development delivered by Crema Constructions in Melbourne’s inner south‑east. Positioned along a major arterial corridor with strong access to public transport, retail, and services, the development required a high‑capacity and reliable waste solution capable of supporting medium to high‑density living.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed two independent dual waste and recycling chute systems, servicing Building M and Building C. Together, the systems provide consistent and efficient vertical waste transfer across a large number of residential levels while maintaining safety, hygiene, and compliance.

Each system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes configured to suit the building layouts. Fire‑rated, self‑closing intake doors are installed on every active level, allowing residents to safely dispose of waste and recyclables while maintaining fire and smoke separation between floors.

At the top of each chute, dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems provide continuous airflow and automated internal cleaning. These systems assist with odour control, improve hygiene, and protect the long‑term internal condition of the chutes in a high‑use residential environment.

At basement level, waste and recycling are discharged via Type A bottom discharge units to suit 1100L mobile garbage bins. The completed installation integrates seamlessly with the broader residential waste management system, supporting efficient bin handling and long‑term operational performance across both buildings.
