Jordan Hall Waste Chute System

Jordan Hall is a medium‑density residential development delivered by Gauge Constructions in Sydney’s inner north‑west. Located within an established residential precinct close to transport and local services, the project required a dependable waste management solution capable of supporting daily resident use while maintaining compliance, safety, and long‑term operational reliability.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dedicated residential waste chute system designed to provide efficient vertical waste transfer from Levels 01 through 08. The system incorporates durable 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes, delivering strength, longevity, and consistent performance suited to multi‑residential construction.

Eight fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed across the residential levels, supporting safe and user‑friendly access while maintaining building fire compliance. A bypass configuration is incorporated at Ground level, with no intake hopper installed, allowing for service integration and system continuity. Intake doors were upgraded with medium‑temperature smoke seals to further enhance fire safety performance and containment.

At the uppermost level, an integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning system supports airflow, odour control, and internal chute hygiene—key to maintaining reliable daily operation in apartment living environments. The system discharges at P1 Parking level via a minor‑offset configuration designed to suit 660L bin handling, providing practical servicing access while maintaining efficient waste flow.

Custom support brackets were also supplied and installed at Ground and Level 01 to ensure structural stability and correct chute alignment. Together, the installation forms part of the building’s broader apartment waste management infrastructure, delivering a compliant, durable, and low‑maintenance solution tailored to contemporary residential living in Gladesville.
