To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a centralised residential waste chute system designed to streamline vertical waste transfer from residential levels to the ground‑level discharge area. The system helps reduce manual waste handling, supports efficient servicing operations, and improves building cleanliness and resident convenience.
The installation includes 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes engineered for long‑term structural durability and consistent operational performance. Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste intake doors are installed at each service level, providing secure, compliant, and user‑friendly resident access while meeting relevant fire safety requirements. Acoustic lagging has also been incorporated to assist with noise reduction, improving resident comfort across occupied floors.
An integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning system is installed at the uppermost level, supporting airflow, odour control, and internal chute hygiene to maintain system performance over time. Waste is discharged at ground level through a Type A bottom discharge unit designed to suit 240L MGB bin handling requirements, forming part of the building’s broader residential waste management infrastructure and ensuring reliable long‑term operation for the development.
