Curve Apartment is a residential development delivered by Jackaroo Property in a prime coastal precinct at Coolangatta. Located close to the beach, retail amenities, and key transport links, the development required a dependable waste management solution capable of supporting daily residential use while maintaining compliance and ease of operation.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed two independent waste chute systems, one servicing each lift core. This configuration provides efficient vertical waste transfer while distributing usage loads and improving overall system reliability across the building.
Each system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing levels Ground and Levels 2 to 7. Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed on every active level, providing safe and intuitive resident access while maintaining required fire and smoke separation.
At the top of each chute, dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems support airflow, hygiene, and odour control, helping maintain internal chute condition over time. At basement level, waste is discharged via minor‑offset bottom discharge systems into 2000L mobile garbage bins, supporting efficient servicing and reduced collection frequency.
Additional hopper extensions and reusable slab penetration ring formers were incorporated to suit the building layout and construction requirements. The completed installation forms part of a robust residential waste management system, delivering reliable performance and long‑term operational efficiency in a coastal environment.
