Bellevue, Greenwich is a residential development delivered by Decode Constructions on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Positioned within an established urban corridor close to transport and village retail, the project required a compliant and dependable waste management solution capable of supporting daily residential use.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dedicated waste chute system designed to centralise waste collection while maintaining safety, hygiene, and long‑term operational performance. The system provides residents with a convenient vertical waste disposal solution while simplifying servicing at ground level.
The installation incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes configured in a straight‑through vertical arrangement servicing seven levels. This design minimises offsets and transfer points, reducing the likelihood of blockages and supporting consistent system performance over time.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed on every active level, ensuring safe and intuitive resident use while maintaining required fire and smoke separation between floors. Clear signage supports correct operation and helps minimise misuse.
At the top of the chute, a dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning system assists with odour control and internal hygiene. At ground level, waste is discharged via a minor offset into a linear compactor system suited to 240L mobile garbage bins, reducing manual handling and supporting efficient waste collection as part of the building’s overall residential waste management strategy.
