Located close to retail, health services, and public transport, the building required a reliable and compliant waste management solution capable of supporting consistent daily residential use.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a centralised residential waste chute system designed to deliver efficient vertical waste transfer while maintaining safety, hygiene, and long‑term operational performance.
The system comprises 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing seven levels, running straight through without offsets to minimise blockage risk and simplify ongoing maintenance.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed on every active level, providing safe and intuitive resident access while maintaining fire and smoke separation between floors. Clear signage at each intake supports correct use and reduces contamination.
At the top of the chute, a dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning system provides continuous airflow and automated internal cleaning, assisting with odour control, hygiene, and long‑term chute performance.
At basement level, waste is discharged via a splitter discharge system directing waste into two 1100L mobile garbage bins. This configuration supports efficient collection cycles and integrates seamlessly with the building’s broader residential waste management strategy. The completed system delivers a robust, low‑maintenance solution well suited to medium and high‑density residential living.
