
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions worked with Hutchinson Builders to supply and install dual waste and recycling chute systems for Prospect Box Hill, a 25-storey residential development at 9–11 Prospect Street, Box Hill VIC. Developed by R&F Property Australia and designed by Hayball Architects, the building features 194 high-end apartments with floor-to-ceiling glazing, generous balconies, and a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom residences.
The chute installation was engineered for efficiency, hygiene, and long-term performance. Self-closing intake hoppers and doors with clear signage were installed across the majority of levels, while lower levels include bypasses for operational flexibility. The system integrates vent and wash-down cleaning systems extending to the rooftop to maintain hygiene throughout the building.
At the basement-level discharge room, Type A bottom discharge chutes were installed for waste and recycling 1,100L bins. All chute runs were straight up and down, with only a few custom offsets where required, ensuring smooth waste flow and minimal maintenance requirements.
This dual chute system delivers Prospect Box Hill residents a safe, convenient, and discreet waste management solution tailored to a premium high-rise environment.
