A centrally located residential development supported by a modern, compliant waste chute system

Prologue is a medium to high density residential development delivered by Truslan Constructions in Sydney’s Lower North Shore growth corridor. Positioned close to transport, retail, and employment hubs, the building required a centralised waste solution capable of managing consistent daily volumes while maintaining safety, hygiene, and long term reliability.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions designed and installed a single stream system using durable galvanised steel pipework from its integrated Chute Systems range. The straight vertical configuration allows waste to move efficiently from residential levels to the basement discharge room without offsets, reducing friction points and minimising the risk of blockages.

Each level is fitted with fire rated, self closing Chute Doors to support fire compartmentation, improve user safety, and limit odour transfer within the building. Clear signage at every intake promotes correct use and consistent resident behaviour.

At basement level, waste is transferred into a high efficiency Carousel Bin System with integrated compaction to suit three 660 litre MGBs. This solution optimises space within the waste room, reduces manual handling, and streamlines collection cycles for building management.

An integrated washdown and venting solution forms part of Elephants Foot’s broader Odour Management approach. This supports hygiene, reduces build up within the chute, and improves long term system performance. The completed installation delivers a compliant, low maintenance waste infrastructure solution aligned with the needs of higher density residential living.
