Toorak Village by Orchard Piper is a high‑end residential development delivered by Cobild within Melbourne’s most established inner‑city precinct. Located in the heart of Toorak’s retail and lifestyle village, the project required a discreet, reliable, and fully compliant waste management solution capable of supporting premium apartment living without impacting public amenity or presentation standards.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a centralised eDiverter waste chute system, designed to efficiently separate waste and recycling streams while maintaining ease of use and long‑term operational performance.
The system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing ground level through Level 5. The compact vertical configuration supports efficient waste transfer within a premium residential environment, while minimising visual and acoustic impact within the building.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing eDiverter intake doors are installed across Levels 1 to 5, with double intake hoppers provided on Levels 1, 2, and 3 to accommodate higher resident use. A bypass intake arrangement is incorporated where required, ensuring operational flexibility while maintaining compliance with fire and smoke separation requirements.
At the top of the chute, a dedicated odour relief vent and wash‑down cleaning system provides continuous airflow and automated internal cleaning. This system assists with odour control, hygiene, and long‑term protection of the chute interior—critical for premium residential environments.
At basement level, waste and recycling are discharged via an integrated eDiverter discharge system into mobile garbage bins (bin sizes to be confirmed). This configuration integrates seamlessly with the building’s residential waste management system, delivering a discreet, low‑maintenance solution aligned with the project’s architectural and operational standards.
