
Placid Apartments is a residential development delivered by Buildview Corp in the Wolli Creek urban renewal precinct. Located close to rail, retail and the Cooks River corridor, the building supports medium to high density living and required a reliable centralised waste management system to handle daily residential volumes while meeting fire safety and compliance requirements.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a complete waste chute solution using components from its Chute Systems range. The galvanised steel chute risers provide smooth vertical waste transfer from all residential levels to the ground floor discharge room, helping minimise blockages and improve daily waste flow.
Each level was fitted with fire rated self closing intake doors from Elephants Foot’s Chute Doors range, supporting fire compartmentation, resident safety and controlled waste entry across the building.
At ground level, waste is managed through a splitter discharge system designed to suit 1100 litre mobile garbage bins. This discharge configuration allows bins to be safely positioned and changed during collection, supporting efficient and reliable waste handling for building managers and waste contractors.
An integrated vent and wash down system combined with Elephants Foot’s Odour Management solution provides airflow, internal chute cleaning and odour control, helping maintain hygiene and long term system performance.
The completed installation delivers Placid Apartments with a compliant, low maintenance and future ready waste management solution that supports high density residential living in Wolli Creek.
