Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged by Hickory Builders to design and install a linen chute system for the boutique Parker Street Hotel development in Sydney’s vibrant Haymarket precinct. Designed by Bates Smart and Brewster Murray, featuring 174 rooms over 16 levels, it required a reliable, space-efficient, and compliant waste infrastructure to support its day-to-day operations.
The installation comprised 15 levels of galvanised steel chute pipes with self-closing, fire-rated linen hopper intake doors positioned from levels 2 through 15, each with signage for clarity and compliance. At the rooftop, a vent and washdown cleaning system was integrated to maintain operational hygiene and extend system longevity.
At the upper ground floor, the system concluded with a Type A discharge attachment tailored to suit linen trolleys, ensuring efficient linen collection and transfer. Configured as a vertical chute without complex offsets, the design prioritised durability, user safety, and long-term serviceability, aligning with the hotel’s premium standards.
