Elephants Foot Consulting was engaged to deliver a detailed Operational Waste Management Plan (OWMP) for the redevelopment of the Canterbury Leisure and Aquatic Centre. This upgraded facility will feature new indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a learn-to-swim area, a fitness centre, and multi-purpose spaces for community activities.

Our OWMP outlined best-practice strategies for managing general waste, recyclables, and organic waste generated from the facility’s diverse activities. We ensured compliance with Canterbury-Bankstown Council waste regulations, while integrating sustainable design principles for waste storage, collection, and transport. The plan also considered seasonal fluctuations in waste volumes and events.
