Oaky Bay Apartments is a residential development delivered by FKG Group in the northern Gold Coast growth corridor. Designed to support medium to high density living near major transport links and new urban infrastructure, the building required a reliable, centralised waste management solution capable of handling daily resident volumes while meeting fire safety and compliance requirements.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a high performance waste chute system using components from its Chute Systems range. The galvanised steel chute risers provide smooth vertical waste transfer from all residential levels to the basement discharge room, supporting consistent and blockage free operation.
Each level was fitted with fire rated self closing intake doors with smoke seals from Elephants Foot’s Chute Doors range. These doors improve fire compartmentation, limit smoke spread and ensure safe and controlled waste disposal by residents.
At basement level, waste is discharged through a Type A bottom discharge unit designed to suit mobile garbage bins. This discharge configuration allows secure bin connection and efficient bin changeover during collection, helping to maintain safe and streamlined waste handling in the bin room.
A roof level vent and wash down system from Elephants Foot’s Odour Management range provides airflow and automated internal chute cleaning, helping control odours, maintain hygiene and support long term system performance.
The completed installation provides Oaky Bay Apartments with a compliant, low maintenance and future ready waste solution that supports efficient building operations and a high quality resident experience.
