Oak Tree Broadmeadow is a residential development delivered by Kingston Building in Newcastle’s inner growth area. Located close to transport and local services, the project supports medium to high density living and required a reliable, centralised waste solution to manage daily resident volumes.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a high performance waste chute system using components from its Chute Systems range. The galvanised steel chute provides smooth vertical waste transfer from each residential level to the ground floor discharge room.
Each level was fitted with fire rated self closing intake doors from Elephants Foot’s Chute Doors range, ensuring compliant fire separation, resident safety, and controlled waste entry across the building.
At ground level, waste is discharged through a Type A bottom discharge unit to suit TBCL mobile garbage bins. This discharge system supports safe and efficient bin changeover and is designed to handle the daily waste volumes generated by a residential building of this scale.
A roof level vent and wash down system from Elephants Foot’s Odour Management range was installed to provide airflow and internal chute cleaning, helping control odours, improve hygiene, and support long term system performance.
The completed installation delivers a compliant, low maintenance and reliable waste management solution that supports the operational needs of Oak Tree Broadmeadow and provides a positive resident experience.
