A future-facing waste and linen solution tailored for a landmark mixed-use waterfront precinct in Melbourne’s Docklands.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a fully integrated waste and linen handling solution for the landmark Seafarers, a mixed-use waterfront development in Melbourne’s Docklands. The installation comprised one dual chute system for general waste and recycling, and one dedicated linen chute system for streamlined laundry management across both residential and hotel zones.

The scope included 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes fabricated in accordance with EF standard specifications, ensuring structural durability and compliance. Fire-rated self-closing hoppers were installed at 20 waste/recycling intake points and 7 linen intake points, supported by Type A discharge doors for best-practice fire containment.

To manage high waste volumes, two 23m³ integrated compactors were installed alongside automated multi-bin lifters, enabling seamless decanting from 120L to 660L mobile garbage bins into large-capacity compactors. This configuration reduces collection frequency, improves waste logistics, and enhances operational efficiency.
