Mile One is a contemporary multi residential development located in the heart of Kogarah within Sydney’s southern suburbs. Delivered by Binah Constructions, the project provides modern apartment living within a well connected precinct close to transport, retail, and community amenities while supporting efficient building operations and long term asset performance.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a compliant 510mm galvanised steel waste chute system designed to support efficient vertical waste transfer throughout the building. The installation services 11 operational waste intake levels, allowing residents to dispose of waste conveniently while supporting organised waste management processes for building operators.
Fire‑rated stainless steel intake hopper doors were installed at each level to maintain safety compliance and provide reliable daily operation within the residential building. Clear signage was also installed at each chute door to support appropriate waste disposal practices and assist with ongoing building management.
The chute system runs vertically without offsets or transfers, ensuring consistent gravity waste flow while reducing maintenance requirements over the life of the system. An integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning system was installed above the top service level to support airflow management, odour control, and internal hygiene within the chute shaft.
Waste collected through the chute system discharges to the Basement 01 waste room where a linear compactor system was installed to suit 660L MGB bins. This configuration supports efficient waste compaction, reduces bin handling frequency, and improves overall waste room efficiency for building management.
The completed installation provides Binah Constructions with a durable and compliant waste management solution tailored to a high density residential development, supporting efficient waste handling while ensuring reliable long term system performance.
