Description
Luxton is a residential development delivered by Decode Sydney within Sydney’s north west growth corridor. Located close to transport, schools, and essential services, the building required a centralised waste solution capable of managing daily resident volumes while maintaining safety, compliance, and long term operational performance.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions delivered a vertical waste system engineered using its proven Chute Systems, providing a consistent gravity fed waste path from each residential level to the basement discharge area. The chute riser was designed to run straight through the building to reduce maintenance risk and improve reliability over the asset life.
Each level was fitted with fire rated, self closing Chute Doors to support safe resident use, limit odour migration, and reduce the likelihood of blockages caused by improper disposal. Clear signage was installed at every intake point to encourage correct waste behaviour.
At basement level, the system connects to compliant Discharge Attachments and integrates a Linear Track Bin System with compaction to suit 1,100 litre mobile garbage bins. This configuration improves bin handling efficiency, reduces manual handling, and maximises usable space within the waste room.
System hygiene and performance are maintained through an integrated vent and wash down configuration supported by Elephants Foot Odour Management solutions, helping to control odours and maintain a clean chute environment across all levels.
