Aura is a premium high density residential development delivered by Aqualand Construction in the heart of the North Sydney CBD. Located within a major commercial and transport precinct, the building required a robust, compliant waste management solution capable of handling high daily resident volumes while supporting safe operations and long term asset performance.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a fully integrated waste chute system designed specifically for high rise residential environments. The system incorporates 610mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing levels from Lower Ground through to Level 28, providing smooth vertical waste transfer and reducing the risk of blockages in a high use setting.
Fire rated, self‑closing intake doors are installed across active residential levels, ensuring safe waste disposal while maintaining fire and smoke separation between floors. At the top of the chute, a vent and wash‑down cleaning system provides airflow and automated internal cleaning, supporting odour control, hygiene, and long term system reliability.
At basement level, waste is discharged into a linear compactor system suited to 1100L mobile garbage bins, improving compaction efficiency and reducing the frequency of collections. Recycling operations are supported through a 240L bin lifter, allowing smaller recycling bins to be safely decanted into 1100L bins for streamlined collection. Odour management within the discharge room is further enhanced through the installation of an EF Neutralizer system.
To support building operations and waste handling efficiency, the scope also included a battery powered Tug Rise unit with a 1000 kg tow capacity, enabling safe and controlled bin movement within the basement environment. Together, these components form a reliable and future ready high rise waste chute system that supports premium residential living while meeting the operational demands of a major CBD development.
