Delano is a high‑density residential development delivered by Ultra Building in Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Located within a major transport‑oriented and mixed‑use precinct, the project required a reliable and compliant waste management solution capable of supporting high daily resident volumes across multiple buildings.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed three independent residential waste chute systems, each designed to deliver safe, efficient vertical waste transfer while maintaining long‑term operational performance in a high‑use environment.
Each system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing Buildings A, B, and C. Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed on all active levels, with smoke‑seal upgrades improving fire and smoke containment while enhancing acoustic performance between floors.
Dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems are installed at the top of each chute run, supporting odour control, internal hygiene, and long‑term chute integrity. These systems reduce maintenance requirements and improve resident amenity within a high‑density setting.
At basement and podium levels, waste is discharged via compliant offset bottom discharge units into 660L mobile garbage bins. Medium and minor offset configurations were utilised to suit site‑specific discharge room constraints while maintaining safe and efficient servicing access.
The completed installation forms part of a broader residential waste management strategy tailored to high‑density apartment living, delivering a robust, compliant, and low‑maintenance solution that supports long‑term building performance.
