5–7 Parkes Street eDiverter Waste and Recycling Chute System

The Observatory Place residential development by WestCity Constructions required a high capacity, intelligent waste management solution capable of supporting medium to high density living in the Parramatta CBD growth zone.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions delivered two fully integrated chute systems using advanced eDiverter technology to manage waste and recycling streams efficiently across both lift cores. This system allows residents to dispose of waste through a single intake door while the system automatically diverts materials into the correct bin stream, improving recycling rates and reducing contamination.

Each chute stack is constructed from 610mm galvanised steel and fitted with fire rated, self closing intake doors for safety and compliance. Integrated vent and wash down cleaning systems installed at the top of each riser help control odours, maintain hygiene, and support reliable long term operation.

At ground level, waste and recycling are discharged into 660L mobile garbage bins via dedicated eDiverter discharge units, enabling smooth and safe bin handling for collection teams. This purpose built waste chute system and recycling chute system supports daily resident volumes while meeting strict fire, safety, and operational requirements for high rise residential buildings.
