eDiverter Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Ombré is a mixed-use residential development by Greyburn Constructions, located at 46 Scottsdale Drive, Robina QLD, within the heart of the Robina Town Centre precinct on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The development required a space-efficient and compliant waste management solution capable of servicing multiple levels while meeting a detailed acoustic specification to suit the building’s high-density residential environment.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install an eDiverter chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin. The installation services eight chute pipe levels, with eight fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed across all operational levels. The discharge room is located at basement 1, fitted with a minor offset discharge configuration to suit a 2,000L MGB.

A comprehensive acoustic upgrade package was applied throughout the installation. Premium acoustic lagging using 55mm thick 32kg/m3 foil-faced glass-wool insulation blanket rated R1.3 was applied to all eight chute pipe sections, and NRD2 rubber acoustic isolation mounts with 10mm static deflection were installed at all eight chute pipe levels to minimise both airborne and structure-borne noise transmission through the building.

The discharge room acoustic specification also required Embelton NRD2 isolation mounts to all ceiling-mounted equipment, ensuring noise from waste room operations is effectively contained at basement level.
An odour relief vent and flushing spray system was installed at the top of the chute shaft, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of the chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the shaft.

The completed installation provides Greyburn Constructions with a durable, compliant, and acoustically considered waste management solution suited to the scale and operational demands of Ombré, supporting efficient building operations and a comfortable residential environment within the Robina Town Centre precinct.
