eDiverter Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Olive Green is a boutique residential development by Balmain and Co, located at 380 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield South VIC, within Melbourne’s City of Glen Eira approximately 9km from the CBD. Developed by Freeman Group and designed by WMK Architecture, the building delivers a collection of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments positioned close to parklands, schools, cafes, and public transport in one of Melbourne’s most established inner-south precincts.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed an eDiverter chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The system services six chute pipe levels, with six fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at every operational level. The discharge room is located at basement 1, fitted with a minor offset discharge configuration to suit a 660L MGB for both waste and recycling streams.

Premium acoustic lagging using 55mm thick 32kg/m3 foil-faced glass-wool insulation blanket rated R1.3 was applied to all six chute pipe sections, minimising noise transmission through the building structure and maintaining the quiet residential environment expected within a boutique apartment development. An odour relief vent and flushing spray system was installed at the top of the shaft to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene.
