New Epping Stage 1 Residences is a social and affordable housing development by Hacer Group, located at 215 Cooper Street, Epping VIC. The development’s three-block configuration required individually designed eDiverter chute systems with acoustic treatment to suit the building’s residential density and compliance requirements.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed three eDiverter chute systems across Blocks A, B, and C, providing a combined total of 18 chute pipe levels and 18 fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at every operational level. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin. Acoustic lagging equivalent to Vibralag was applied to chute pipe sections across all three blocks to minimise noise transmission through the building structure.
Block A services six chute pipe levels, Block B services seven chute pipe levels, and Block C services five chute pipe levels. All three discharge rooms are located at level 00, each fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit 1,100L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams. Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all three chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene.
The completed installation provides Hacer Group with a durable, compliant, and acoustically considered waste management solution suited to the operational demands of New Epping Stage 1 Residences, supporting efficient building operations within the first residential stage of one of Melbourne’s most significant master-planned precincts.
