IQ Burwood is a luxury smart home residential development by Binah Constructions, located at 15-19 Clarence Street, Burwood NSW, in the heart of Sydney’s inner west. The development’s two-core configuration and premium smart home credentials required a space-efficient and technically considered waste management solution capable of servicing both cores with integrated waste stream separation and compaction equipment.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install two eDiverter chute systems across the north and south cores, providing a combined total of 19 chute pipe levels. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin. Both systems incorporate a chute offset at the eDiverter discharge level to suit the lower ground discharge room configuration.
The north core services 11 chute pipe levels, with 11 fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at every operational level. The south core services eight chute pipe levels with fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at all operational levels. Both cores discharge to lower ground level, each fitted with an eDiverter discharge system, a linear compactor system configured to suit a 660L waste MGB, and a linear track system without compactor configured to suit a 240L recycling MGB.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of both chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout both shafts.
The completed installation provides Binah Constructions with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste management solution tailored to the premium character of IQ Burwood, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance within Sydney’s inner west.
