eDiverter Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Esprit is a luxury residential development by J Hutchison, located at 217-227 Boundary Street, Coolangatta QLD, within the Rainbow Bay precinct on Queensland’s southern Gold Coast. The mixed-use nature of the development, incorporating both residential and retail components across multiple cores, required three independently configured waste chute systems to suit the specific layout and operational demands of each area.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install three eDiverter chute systems across the southern residential core, northern residential core, and retail area, providing a combined total of 20 chute pipe levels across all three systems. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin, providing a space-efficient solution suited to a luxury high-density mixed-use development.

The southern residential eDiverter chute services 11 chute pipe levels, with 11 fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at every operational level. The discharge room is located at basement 1, fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit a 1,000L MGB. A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at the top of the shaft discharging to roof level above.

The northern residential eDiverter chute services eight chute pipe levels, with seven fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed across operational levels and a bypass configuration incorporated at ground floor. A major mid-level chute offset was also incorporated at ground floor to suit the building layout. The discharge room is located at basement 1, fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit a 1,000L MGB. A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at the top of the shaft discharging to roof level above.

The retail eDiverter chute services one chute pipe level at ground floor, with a single fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake door installed at that level. The discharge room is located at basement 1, fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit a 1,100L MGB. A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at ground floor level discharging to the level above.

The completed installation provides J Hutchison with a durable, compliant, and coordinated waste management solution tailored to the mixed-use configuration of Esprit, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance across all three chute systems within a luxury coastal development on Queensland’s southern Gold Coast.
