
Stone Corner is a social and affordable housing development by McNab Developments, located at 23-27 Cleveland Street, Stones Corner, in Brisbane’s inner south. The development provides high-density residential accommodation within an established inner-city suburb, requiring a waste management solution capable of servicing multiple levels efficiently while supporting straightforward day-to-day operations for building management and residents alike.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed an eDiverter chute system suited to the vertical layout and occupancy requirements of the building. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin. This space-efficient solution supports organised waste room operations while minimising the footprint required for waste infrastructure within the building. The installation services 10 chute pipe levels spanning levels 2 through 10 and the roof terrace, with 10 fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed across all operational levels. The discharge room is located at level 1, with a medium offset discharge configuration installed to suit the eDiverter stream and a 1,100L MGB.
An integrated single bin compactor system configured to suit a 1,100L waste MGB was installed at the discharge level, supporting efficient waste compaction and reducing the frequency of bin changeovers for building management. This waste room equipment integration ensures the discharge configuration is well suited to the high-occupancy demands of a social and affordable housing environment.
An odour relief vent and flushing spray system was installed at roof terrace level, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of the chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the shaft.
The completed installation provides McNab Developments with a durable, compliant, and practical waste management solution tailored to the operational demands of Stone Corner, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance within a social and affordable housing environment.
