Scape Todman is a purpose-built student accommodation development by Infinity Constructions Group, located at the corner of Anzac Parade and Todman Avenue, Kensington NSW, within the UNSW university precinct in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The 18-storey development required a coordinated multi-stream waste solution across two buildings, including provision for future organic waste collection system connection.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed two dual waste and recycling chute systems and two organic waste chute systems across Buildings A and B, discharging to basement 1 in both buildings. Building A services 18 waste and 18 recycling chute pipe levels with bypass configurations at ground floor, while Building B services seven waste and seven recycling chute pipe levels with bypass configurations at ground floor and level 1. Both buildings are fitted with medium offset discharge configurations for both streams, with linear compactor systems for waste and linear systems for recycling installed at basement 1 in each building.
The organic waste chute systems in both buildings were installed with discharge points capped at high level, ready for future connection to an automated waste collection system. Odour relief vent and flushing spray systems were installed at the top of all chute shafts across both buildings to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the development.
2x Dual Waste and Recycling Chute Systems (Buildings A and B, 510mm Galvanised Steel); 2x Organic Waste Chute Systems (Future AWCS Connection, Both Buildings); 50x Fire-Rated Self-Closing Intake Doors; 2x Linear Compactor Systems and 2x Linear Systems to suit 1,100L MGB; 4x Medium Offset Discharge Configurations; 6x Odour Relief Vent and Flushing Spray Systems; Basement 1 Discharge Configuration.
