Dual Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Tulloch House is the second stage of the Ascot Green master-planned community by Mirvac Constructions, located at 240 Lancaster Road, Ascot QLD, alongside the heritage-listed Eagle Farm Racecourse in one of Brisbane’s most prestigious inner-city suburbs. The development’s high-end residential character and multi-level configuration required a practical and compliant waste management solution providing separate waste and recycling streams to support efficient building operations.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install a dual waste and recycling chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The system provides efficient waste and recycling transfer across nine chute pipe levels, with 18 fire-rated self-closing intake doors installed across all operational levels for both streams. Both chute shafts run straight up and down with no offsets, with the discharge room located at basement 1.

The recycling stream is fitted with a Type A bottom discharge door configured to suit a 1,100L MGB, providing a reliable and low-maintenance discharge solution at bin level. The waste stream is fitted with a linear compactor system with a 2:1 compaction ratio configured to suit a 1,100L waste MGB, supporting efficient waste compaction and reducing the frequency of bin changeovers for building management within the basement waste room.

Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of both chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout both shafts.

The completed installation provides Mirvac Constructions with a durable and compliant waste and recycling infrastructure solution suited to the scale and character of Tulloch House, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance within the Ascot Green master-planned community alongside one of Brisbane’s most iconic heritage precincts.
