The Kensington is a luxury mixed-use residential development by Dasco Australia, located at 137-151 Anzac Parade, Kensington NSW, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs approximately 4km from the CBD. The development’s three-core configuration required individually designed dual waste and recycling chute systems to suit the layout and occupancy of each lift core.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed three dual waste and recycling chute systems across Cores 1, 2, and 3, providing a combined total of 54 chute pipe levels and 52 fire-rated self-closing intake doors across all operational levels. Core 1 incorporates bypass configurations at ground floor for both waste and recycling streams, while Cores 2 and 3 include intake doors at every level. All three discharge rooms are located at basement 1, each fitted with medium offset discharge configurations for both waste and recycling streams to suit 1,100L MGBs.

Odour relief vent and flushing spray systems were installed at the top of all six chute shafts across all three cores, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of each chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the development.

The completed installation provides Dasco Australia with a durable and compliant waste and recycling infrastructure solution suited to the scale and premium character of The Kensington, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance across all three cores.
